   Lerici | Mahamiru | Ohuè | Osprey | Gaeta | Huon | Lat Ya

In 1988 the Italian Navy awarded intermarine a further contract for six minehunters, which represented an updated version of the Lerici Class.
Two more of the same Class were added to the contract in 1992.
The configuration, in terms of propulsion system and combat system, is almost the same of the Lerici Class, with slight modifications, while the dimensions were increased to 52.45 m. in length and the displacement to 720 t.

The eight minehunters of the so-called "Gaeta Class" have been delivered by the end of 1996.
The propulsion system and power plant is basically the same of the Lerici Class, with engines and Azimuth thrusters of increased power for better performances.
The ship's displacement is approx. 720 t., and the speed is in excess of 14 knots.
Also the Combat System is similar to that of the Lerici Class: the Command and Control system supplied by Datamat, integrates updated equipment, such as the FIAR Variable Depth Sonar and the SMA SPN/728 radar.
Two Mine Disposal Vehicles are also integrated, supplied by Consorzio Riva - Elsag (the MIN) and Gaymarine (the Pluto). The Communication system is made by ELMER and the armament consists of a 20 mm. gun.
