Intermarine is known world-wide, within the Military
domain, for its production of sophisticated GRP minehunters,
characterised by minimum magnetic and acoustic signature
together with the capability of resisting, without damage,
several underwater explosions in close proximity.
Military Navies from all over the world, some of them
being most prestigious (such as those of Italy, United
States and Australia), have chosen intermarine to construct
or to upgrade their fleet of Mine Countermeasure Vessels.
This excellence has been achieved through years of study
and experimentation in developing optimal resin formulations
and glass fibres.
The experience gained during the development of the minehunters
programs and the knowledge accrued in the latest developments
in new composite materials are applied by intermarine
in the construction of other large military or paramilitary
vessels.
Among such production a special mention is worth for the
Fast Patrol Boats, available in the range 16 to 40 m.,
all characterised by high performance and excellent sea
keeping and manoeuvrability.
The adoption of composites as construction material for
this kind of vessels maintains displacement at minimum
(without penalising the hull strength) and assures the
necessary characteristics of quiet navigation and comfort
for the crew.
The following models represent an important aspect of
the current intermarine production of Fast Patrol Boats:
V5000
(a 16,5 m FPB, characterised by a speed in excess of 50
knots)
V6000
(a 16,5 m FPB, characterised by a speed in excess of 70
knots)
MV85
(a 27 m FPB, characterised by a speed in excess of 42
knots)
MV115
(a 35 m FPB, characterised by a speed in excess of 35
knots)
CP25
(a 25 m FPB in alluminium, characterised by a speed in
excess of 33 knots)
