INTERMARINE TO LAUNCH THE “G122 LA SPINA” FAST PATROL BOAT FOR THE ITALIAN GUARDIA DI FINANZA

The boat is being launched exactly as per the contractual production schedule.

Today, January 28,2005, at 4.00 p.m., Rodriquez’s Intermarine shipyard in Sarzana has launched the Bigliani Class VI Series Fast Patrol Boat “G122 La Spina”.

“G122 La Spina” will be formally delivered in approximately 8 months and is an evolution of the Bigliani class training vessels, “Marino” e “Pedretti” developed for the Italian Navy in 1998. She is a 27 meter, 100% composite vessel and is capable of speeds up to 40 knots. Her highly sophisticated construction along with Intermarine’s demanding quality standards combined with the needs of the Guardia di Finanza have resulted in a vessel that is ideally suited to her role as a coastal patrol vessel to fight against illicit smuggling and contraband activities.

TThe launching cerimony has been presided over by Gen. Walter Peruzzo, commander of the Guardia di Finanza Regione Liguria and by the Director of Intermarine Yard, Mr. Edoardo Cossutta.

This latest launch is part of a contract with the Guardia di Finanza for the supply of ten 27 meter patrol vessels along with five 35 meter patrol boats. The first, the second and the third of the 35 meter series, the “G3 DI Bartolo”, “G4 Avallone” and “G5 Oltramonti” will be delivered..

In addition to this contract, Intermarine in cooperation with the Baglietto shipyard is also building another fourteen 13.20 meter fast interceptor craft (45 knots) for the Guardia di Finanza.Intermarine has also been awarded a contract by the Italian Navy for the midlife refit of the “Lerici Class”, minehunters previously built by Intermarine.

On the yacht side, Intermarine has delivered a 36 metre 60 knot composite yacht and is also continuing with production of the 24 metre 75 WideBody pleasure craft series for their sister company Conam. The fourth and the fifth 75 Widebody are under construction. During the 44th edition of the Salone Nautico in Genoa Rodriquez Cantieri Navali has presented two new project bow with the same concept : the WideBody . The first, Conam 80 Sport, a more sportive, aggressive and fast yacht, the second, Collezione 35, is a 35 meter navetta style, i.e. classic, relaxing, natural, luxurious and with maximum comfort. Next year Intermarine will start with the construction of the new Conam 80 Sport. The prototype of the Collezione 35 is under construction at Messina Yard.
