INTERMARINE TO
LAUNCH THE G121 URSO PATROL BOAT FOR THE ITALIAN GUARDIA
DI FINANZA
The boat is being launched exactly as per the contractual production
schedule.
Today, October 22,2004, at
12.00 a.m., Rodriquezs Intermarine shipyard in Sarzana has
launched the Bigliani Class VI Series Fast Patrol Boat G121
Urso.
G121 Urso will
be formally delivered in approximately 8 months and is an evolution
of the Bigliani class training vessels, Marino e Pedretti
developed for the Italian Navy in 1998. She is a 27 meter, 100%
composite vessel and is capable of speeds up to 40 knots. Her
highly sophisticated construction along with Intermarines
demanding quality standards combined with the needs of the Guardia
di Finanza have resulted in a vessel that is ideally suited to
her role as a coastal patrol vessel to fight against illicit smuggling
and contraband activities
The launching cerimony has
been presided over by Gen. Walter Peruzzo, commander of the Guardia
di Finanza Regione Liguria and by the Director of Intermarine
Yard, Mr. Edoardo Cossutta
This latest launch is part
of a contract with the Guardia di Finanza for the supply of ten
27 meter patrol vessels along with five 35 meter patrol boats.
The first, the second and the third of the 35 meter series, the
G3 DI Bartolo, G4 Avallone and G5
Oltramonti will be delivered.
In addition to this contract,
Intermarine in cooperation with the Baglietto shipyard is also
building another fourteen 13.20 meter fast interceptor craft (45
knots) for the Guardia di Finanza. Intermarine has also been awarded
a contract by the Italian Navy for the midlife refit of the Lerici
Class, minehunters previously built by Intermarine.
On the yacht side, Intermarine
has delivered a 36 metre 60 knot composite yacht and is also continuing
with production of the 24 metre 75 WideBody pleasure craft series
for their sister company Conam. The third 75 Widebody was delivered
in September. During the 44th edition of the Salone Nautico in
Genoa Rodriquez Cantieri Navali has presented two new project
bow with the same concept : the WideBod . The first, Conam 80
Sport, a more sportive, aggressive and fast yacht, the second,
Collezione 35, is a 35 meter navetta style, i.e. classic, relaxing,
natural, luxurious and with maximum comfort. Next year Intermarine
will start with the construction of the new Conam 80 Sport. The
prototype of the Collezione 35 is under construction at Messina
Yard.
