INTERMARINE DELIVERS
THE BIGLIANI CLASS V PATROL BOAT “G3 DI BARTOLO” TO
THE ITALIAN CUSTOMS SERVICE
The cerimony, held at the recently refurbished Stazione Marittima
in Genoa comes after only seven months from the launch and after
an intensive and highly successful period of tests and sea trials.
The ceremony was presided
over this morning, the 7th of October 2003 by General Francesco
D’Isanto who took delivery of the Bigliani Class V “G3
Di Bartolo” from the President of Intermarine Mr. Antonino
Parisi.
The Patrol Boat, launched only seven months ago and delivered
ahead of schedule is the first of a series of five 35 meter patrol
boats for the Guardia di Finanza. Intermarine is also building
another ten 27 meter patrol boats for the same customer.
“G3 Di Bartolo” met or exceeded all of her performance
criteria which were confirmed during
the acceptance trials, during which time she reached a maximum
speed of 35 knots at a displacement of 135 tonnes. “G3 Di
Bartolo” has an overall length of 35.50 m and a beam of
7.55 m. She is powered by two MTU 16V 396 TB94 diesel engines
each rated for 2560 kW and is built entirely out of the latest
generation composite materials. With a range of more than 1,200
nautical miles and a crew complement of 19, “G3 Di Bartolo”
will be able to remain on patrol and mission focused for longer
periods than has previously been possible.
The Intermarine yard, founded in 1970, is specialized in the design
and construction of high quality and advnaced technology composite
material vessels, and is a specialist in world leading MCM (mine
counter-measure) vessels. Since September 2003 Intermarine has
been a part of the Rodriquez Cantieri Navali group who themselves
are now one of the largest privately held shipbuilders in Italy.
With the delivery of “G3 Di Bartolo” the total number
of vessels under construction at Intermarine is now 18 and includes:
ten 27 meter Patrol Boats, four 35 meter Patrol Boats, one 118’
Wally Power, one 38 m Rodriquez Yacht and two Conam 75 WideBody
pleasure boats.
Currently under construction at Rodriquez including Intermarine
